We are seeking a qualified mechanic to help our team at Field AI, a leading robotics startup based in Mission Viejo, CA.

Responsibilities:
* Perform repairs and replacements on our company’s modified Polaris RZR, including engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.
* Conduct routine maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Safely operate the RZR for testing and transportation purposes (valid California driver's license required).
* Organize transportation and logistics for race and testing events.
* Safe recovery of vehicles from stuck/rollover scenarios.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Will also double as a chase driver.

Qualifications:
* Experience as a mechanic, preferably with off-road vehicles like UTVs.
* Experience driving off-road vehicles.
* Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
* Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, powertrain systems, suspension, and brakes.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
* Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.

Bonus Qualifications:
* Experience working on robots or other autonomous vehicles.
* Participation in off-road racing or rally events.

Schedule:
* This is a part-time/contract position with flexible hours, averaging 10 hrs / week, with greater time commitment needed during test/event days (which occur ~1 week / month).
