AccuTune Off-Road is the premier retailer of suspension in the off-road industry by delivering suspension that works as good as it looks. We started out by making trucks, SUV’s and off-road vehicles look better and ride better by returning each shock in house to meet the customer’s specific needs. As we have gained experience selling and installing many suspension products, we have identified opportunities for improvement and have launched our own line of suspension kits, control arms, and bump stops.

In order to continue growing our product lines and developing all the products we have planned the R&D team needs someone with hands on experience designing and prototyping automotive suspension parts. This role will focus on the hands-on side of R&D including evaluating stock suspension, designing new parts in Solidworks, fitting existing designs to new vehicles, prototyping, conducting durability tests, and helping with vehicle builds. Our R&D team works seamlessly from concept through on-going production support and this role will have an opportunity to do the same.

We have a large backlog of work so the ideal person is already well experienced with the tools of the trade. Considerable time will be spent designing parts and they should be experienced with Solidworks or similar 3d cad. Vehicle applications work requires a lot of prototyping and the ideal candidate is familiar with the tools typically used in off-road fabrication. The ability to stay organized, take detailed notes, and communicate what you learned to the rest of the team is critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, prototype, test fit off-road suspension products such as Jeep Long Arm Kits, Upper Control Arms, Lift Springs, etc. in accordance with product requirements.
• Design & prototype production tooling to make new products and improve production of existing products.
• Create 3d models and drawings in Solidworks using best practices & GD&T.
• Use manual lathe & mill, mig &tig welding, tube bending, and other fabrication tools to prototype new products.
• Test prototype parts for fit, function, and durability. Prepare report on test results.
• Build & maintain company vehicles
• Help with installs
• Participate in ECR/ECO process: submit and fulfill change requests.
• Maintain project schedules in order to launch successful new products on time.

Experience & Skills:
• At least 5 years professional off-road fabrication or R&D experience, at least 5 years of CAD experience.
• Experience with the off-road industry & popular platforms for universal fit (Ultra 4, Jeeps, rockcrawlers, prerunners, VW, sand rail, buggies, common racing classes, etc.) and OEM fit (Toyota, Jeep, Chevy, Ford, Dodge).
• Active off-road enthusiast with hands on suspension experience (eg, fabrication and installation of suspension parts).
• Experience with common software (Solidworks, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
• Detail oriented, carefully performs tests in accordance with test plan. Able to reproduce process and results. Able to identify & document deviations from test plans and expected results.
• Excellent written, verbal, intrapersonal communication skills; ability to call, connect and interact with customers and coworkers.
• Excellent time management skills. Ability to set and maintain project schedules.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized while handling multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.

Warehouse Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee moves different package sizes and weights and is regularly required to walk and stand for the full shift. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance. The employee is required to lift up to 70 pounds and/or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.
This position will primarily work in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold or elevated ambient temperature, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate and the environment fast paced.
This position may require evening, weekend or other shift work depending on business needs.

What AccuTune Offers:
Total Compensation: $70k to $90k per year ($68k to $88k per year base pay)
Health Care: Kaiser Bronze 60 HMO 6300/75 – 100% paid by AccuTune
Silver 70 HMO 2250/55 HMO is available, employee pays difference in cost
Platinum 90 HMO 0/20 HMO is available, employee pays difference in cost
Dental: AccuTune pays 50% of monthly fee, Delta Dental PPO Advantage 400
401K: 3% company contribution to traditional plan (regardless of employee contribution)
No vesting required

Must be 18 years of age, 3 months of service, and 250 hours worked to qualify
Holidays: 7 days per year

Hours: 7:00 - 4:00 (Expect ~9hrs/day of work)
