For sale: Kouros VW Buggy - Hubert Auriol - 1988 Dakar Rallye

The “Kouros/Auriol” buggy is mythical vehicle of the Paris-Dakar. These unique prototypes were single-seater tubular chassis with big suspension travel.

After nine participations and two victories on his motorbike, Hubert Auriol broke his two ankles during the 1987 Dakar Rallye. He declares in an incredible TV moment: "I stop racing motorbikes".

Then, he decided to set up a team and build two buggies for next year Dakar.
The second one will be for Xavier LAPEYRE : thirteen participations in the “24h du Mans”, then official Audi pilot on the Paris-Dakar.

The project is supported by Volkswagen, Kouros (Yves-Saint-Laurent), and Elf.
The cars were build by Fred Stalder (ROC).
They were equipped with VW 2 liter turbo engines supplied by Volkswagen.

With their famous drivers and one of a kind look, these vehicles have stuck in the memory of a whole passionate generation.

- Never restaured
- Original fiber body and stickers
- Spare tubular chassis, that can be used to rebuild the second car of the team
- Spare front beam, suspension parts, spindles, brakes, steering boxes, etc.
