This is a 97 Ford F-150 that I built into a moderate prerunner that is still usable as a truck.
Custom built A Arm front end with King 2.5” x 12” coilovers in perfect condition. The setup is 6.5” wider per side with 18.5” of travel in the front end and has the potential for more with fiberglass fenders
Giant Motorsports 64” leaf springs with King 2.5” x 16” triple bypass shocks in the rear. Pulls 20” of travel
It rides on 39” x 13.5” Toyo Open Country MT tires. It rides and takes bumps extremely well.
4.6 v8 with automatic transmission. Odometer reads just over 300k and I do not know if the engine or transmission have been rebuilt but it runs absolutely amazing. I have put over 20,000 miles on the truck since I bought it and it has never had any problems. The engine has later model performance improvement cams, shorty headers, true dual exhaust to Flowmaster 40’s, electric fans, and an SCT X4 programmer with custom tunes from 5 Star Tuning. It is not CA smog legal currently but the truck did pass smog in November 2017 with these performance upgrades on the stock tune with catalytic converters. Exhaust does not currently have catalytic converters.
Front and rear differentials are regeared to 4.88
Front end needs lengthened CV axles and vacuum lines in order to have 4wd again. Everything worked well before I built the front end.
I had the front seats reupholstered about 5 years ago when I bought the truck, they are still in perfect condition. The rear seat is not in due to minor clearance issues with the subwoofers but I do have it. Headliner was also redone with the front seats. The driver’s side dash is only 2 years old. Vinyl flooring is less than 2 years old and in perfect condition. It has a Pioneer bluetooth radio, pioneer speakers front and rear, and a pioneer 1000watt amp with capacitor to power the 10” Rockford Fosgate subwoofers. The radio sounds very good and the subwoofers kick ass.
There are a few things that need to be done to the truck in order for it to be “complete” but it runs and drives as is and I use it all the time. Those include: front axles, bump stops front and rear, limit straps front and rear, fiberglass fenders and bedsides (front fenders are crushed but I do have a spare set that come with the truck,) front reservoir mounts, new U Bolts and to seal the rear diff cover, extended rear seat mounts, and a few minor touch up pieces in the engine bay. I plan to continue working on the truck so I will update the ad as I work on it.
I’ve owned the truck for 5 years now and absolutely love it but life is taking its course and I figured it’s time to sell it. I have put countless hours of work and fabrication into it. I built the truck to be a badass prerunner that can still be used as a truck. The bed will still take a full load and haul whatever you need to the desert to have fun. It’s extremely reliable and has been driven to different offroading spots in California, offroaded for the weekend, and driven home with zero problems. This will probably be the cheapest opportunity to own a reliable truck with 18” of travel in the front and 20” in the rear, a comfortable interior, good sound system, and working AC.
