Company Bio:
Carlson Motorsports (CM), a Minnesota-based short course off-road race team competing in the Championship Off-Road Series, is looking for a crew chief for their UTV Race Program. CM is a growth-oriented, highly competitive family race team currently competing in both Pro4 and Pro Mod UTV. CM and our driver, Andrew Carlson are factory sponsored by Polaris RZR. In 2021, Carlson logged more wins than any of the Pro Mod UTV driver in the Champ Off-Road Series, with a total of five wins and nine podiums through 12 rounds of racing.

Job Summary:
The UTV crew chief will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the UTV race program. This includes serving as the senior technician in a hands-on mechanical role, as well as the manager of one-to-three part time mechanics and crew members.

The Crew Chief will oversee all mechanical aspects of the UTV race program, including:
-Crew leadership of all mechanical functions at all races and test sessions
-Race vehicle builds
-Data acquisition, testing and development
-Pre-race Maintenance and preparation for race weekends
-Parts ordering and inventory management

Essential Job Functions:
The ideal candidate:
-Has extensive mechanical experience with UTVs in off-road racing. Specific experience with Polaris RZRs preferred, but not required.
-Is detail oriented, and has a functional understanding of data acquisition, performance testing and making data-based tuning decisions
-Is a motivated self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment
-Has project management experience and can follow tight timelines
-Must be highly organized and capable of maintaining a clean and well-structured working environment
-Should have a solid fundamental understanding of CVT drive systems and CVT tuning components
-Must be familiar with race suspension systems and tuning
-Must thrive in a highly collaborative team environment and value the input of others
-Has the humility to ask questions of others in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
