Professionally converted 2004 GMC 5500 Glaval bus complete with all the amenities. Originally used as a tour bus for a California winery, we have thoughtfully converted this bus to give it a new life as a fully functional home away from home. The bus runs and drives exceptionally well and is an upgrade from a standard bus remodel. Sadly, we don’t use it much anymore and would love to see it go to a good home. SPECS: CAB/ENGINE
GMC 5500 cab and chassis. Glaval bus body, 32’ long. GMC 6.6 Duramax diesel/Allison transmission with 130,000 miles and a clean Montana title (still California smog legal). Brand new engine battery, new K&N intake. Oil and filter are all Amsoil, just changed. 60-gallon fuel tank. Brand new FASS lift pump fuel system (original primer deleted). Engine is stock and has never been tuned.
EXTERIOR
All white exterior, no major dents or scratches. All (6) tires replaced (Michelin front/Toyo rear). Full air ride rear suspension. On-board air compression for ride height and dump valve. 20-gallon propane tank mounted under the bus, with lockable RV side door. 40-gallon freshwater tank with exterior fill valve. 30-gallon gray and black tanks live under bus. (4) 100-watt Renogy solar panels on roof with solar controller. Rear previous wheelchair-access door opens to all the electrical systems and ample extra exterior storage.
INTERIOR
Fully off-grid capable and specially outfitted with everything you need to feel at home. The kitchen has tons of custom cabinets and storage galore. All drawers are soft close, and all counters are sanded bamboo. There are flush-mounted, retractable 110 outlets and USB charging plugs on each counter, and of course in the bedroom above the bed. Also included are Norcold dual door 3-way refrigerator/freezer and 3-burner Furion stove and oven with foldable splashguard. We also installed a deep stainless-steel sink with extendable faucet and cutting board cover. The pantry area features slide-out rack and more storage below. Tons of storage!
The living room area has a 3-person jackknife couch that can fold flat for additional sleeping, plus a fold down center section with cup holders and storage under the seating. The dining area features some of the original tour-bus leather chairs with bamboo table matching the countertops. From the couch or the dining table, you can comfortably view a 32” TV with DVD player behind driver and a full BT stereo system/speakers throughout the bus with 12” sub. All windows have top slidable windows, as well as Safari-style windows on each side. All windows also have pull down RV shades with color-change LED strips. The flooring is all cork, from the driver’s area to the rear bedroom.
The rear bedroom is home to a newer queen mattress with storage and power above the sleeping area plus LED lighting and maintains privacy via pulldown RV shades. The windows in the bedroom can be opened Safari-style as well. Additionally, the full shower houses a miniature bathtub. Across from the shower, we installed a flushable toilet with separate black tank and overhead storage in toilet area.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
(2) 12 volt house batteries, AIMS 2500-watt inverter with shore power plug. Renogy solar panels and solar charge controller. Everything is fused or on a breaker. All electrical components in one area, easy to access. There is also a separate air compressor/tank in the electrical area for any air needs. 12-Volt 6-gallon water heater and water pump with interior switches. All lighting is LED with multiple lights in different locations. You can leave the lights and TV on all day and have no power issues. Everything works properly with no issues.
EXTRA NOTES
The bus will come with an Onan LP generator that I had planned to install under the bus to run a roof-mounted AC/Heat unit. This and installing a tow hitch was the last thing I was going to finish to complete the bus. I can also arrange the installation for an additional cost. The current old bus AC has been disconnected. The left side refrigerator door is a little sticky when closing. This is a common problem with the Norcold 4-door units. The driver’s seat is getting a little aged, and would be nice to replace with a more comfortable captain’s type chair.
