To continue developing and growing our product lines we have planned, AccuTune Offroad needs a person immediately on the R&D team with hands-on experience installing prototype and production automotive suspension parts.

This role will focus on the hands-on side of R&D. This includes assisting the evaluation of stock suspension, fitting existing designs to new vehicles, prototype product installation, conducting durability tests, and helping with vehicle builds. From time to time we install products on customer vehicles as well. Our R&D team works seamlessly from concept through on-going production support and this role will have an opportunity to do the same.

The ideal person is already well experienced with the tools used in the trade. Considerable time will be spent assisting R&D with part design and evaluation. Vehicle applications work requires prototyping and the ideal candidate is familiar with the tools typically used in off-road fabrication. The ability to stay organized, take detailed notes, and provide concise feedback to the rest of the team is critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation, evaluation of prototype and production components
Test fit off-road suspension products such as Jeep Long Arm Kits, Upper Control Arms, Lift Springs, etc. in accordance with product requirements.
Assist design & prototype production tooling for new products and improve production of existing products.
Proficient on manual lathe & mill, mig & tig welding, tube bending, and other fabrication tools to assist with the prototype of new products.
Install prototype parts for fit, function, and durability. Prepare detailed results reports as needed.
Assist with builds & maintenance company vehicles
Assist with Instruction Sheet write ups and revisions.
Participate in the ECR/ECO process, including submitting change requests to R&D Manager.
Maintain project schedules in order to launch successful new products on time.


Experience & Skills:
Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
ASE Certificate in Suspension and Steering a plus
At least 5 years professional off-road fabrication or R&D experience.
Experience with the off-road industry & popular platforms for universal fit (Ultra 4, Jeeps, rock crawlers, prerunners, VW, sand rail, buggies, common racing classes, etc.) and OEM fit (Toyota, Jeep, Chevy, Ford, Dodge).
Active off-road enthusiast with hands on suspension experience (eg, fabrication and installation of suspension parts), stays up to date on market developments.
Familiar with current, common software (Solidworks, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
Detail oriented, carefully performs tests in accordance with the test plan. Able to reproduce processes and results. Able to identify & document deviations from test plans and expected results.
Positive, objective, can-do attitude
Excellent written, verbal, intrapersonal communication skills; ability to call, connect and interact positively with customers and coworkers.
Excellent time management skills. Ability to read, understand, set and maintain project schedules.
Ability to multi-task and stay organized while handling multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.

Warehouse Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee moves different package sizes and weights and is regularly required to walk and stand for the full shift. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance. The employee is required to lift up to 70 pounds and/or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.
This position will primarily work in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold or elevated ambient temperature, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate and the environment fast paced.
This position may require evening, weekend or other shift work depending on business needs.

What AccuTune Offers:
Total Compensation: $25 to $35 per hour Commensurate with experience
Health Care: Kaiser Bronze 60 HMO 6300/75 – 100% paid by AccuTune
Silver 70 HMO 2250/55 HMO is available, employee pays difference in cost
Platinum 90 HMO 0/20 HMO is available, employee pays difference in cost
Dental: AccuTune pays 50% of monthly fee, Delta Dental PPO Advantage 400
401K: 3% company contribution to traditional plan (regardless of employee contribution)
No vesting required
Traditional & Roth plans available
Must be 18 years of age, 3 months of service, and 250 hours worked to qualify
Holidays: 7 days per year
Vacation: 13 days, growing at 1 day per year up to 18 days
Hours: 7:00 - 4:00 (Expect ~9 hrs/day of work)
